My name Matt Kerr and I am a New Zealand professional triathlete competing internationally across IRONMAN and IRONMAN 70.3 racing. Proudly supported and fully endorsing INFINIT Nutrition.
A relative latecomer to endurance sport, my background spans from surf lifesaving, water polo and competitive CrossFit before discovering long course triathlon in my late twenties. What began with little competitive experience across the three disciplines quickly developed into five years of age group racing, culminating in becoming the 2021 IRONMAN Overall Age Group World Champion, alongside multiple overall age group victories and course records.
I stepped away from my career as a secondary school Health, Physical Education and Outdoor Education teacher in New Zealand and Australia to pursue triathlon full time and make the transition into professional racing. Alongside my own career, I am the founder and head coach of MK Performance, combining my experience in professional and age group endurance sport with my background and Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Science to coach athletes across triathlon, running and ultra endurance sport.
Why INFINIT?
My approach to fuelling has evolved significantly alongside my progression through the sport. From a lower carbohydrate approach during my early years in triathlon, my nutrition now reflects the demands of professional long course racing, with high carbohydrate availability strategically periodised throughout training and racing.
That’s where INFINIT has become such an important part of my picture.
-What I like about INFINIT is the ability to make my fuelling genuinely specific to me. Through the custom blend system I can manipulate carbohydrate, sodium and caffeine around the demands of my training and racing, while still having something that tastes great and is incredibly easy to consume hour after hour.
-My simple go is two scoops of Premium Fuel 90 in a bottle. That gives me 90 grams of carbohydrate in a format I know I can consistently get down.
